Description:
A small, round headed tree. Purple stems are adorned with burgundy purple, heart shaped leaves.
Flower:
A total mass of pale pink, pea shaped flowers cover the branches in spring.

Growing Conditions:
· Plant in deeply worked soil that is enriched with compost or other organic material.
· Likes a sunny spot but half day sun is fine.
· Shelter from cold or drying winds.
· Naturally found along stream banks or moist forests.
Care:
· Prune to remove deadwood or to shape nicely.
· Water regularly during dry periods.
· Stake and train to a single leader.
Uses:
A wonderful feature tree. Suitable for small courtyards as well as large country gardens.
Comment:
This is a neat tree with year round interest. The spring flowers, summer leaves, autumn foliage colour and picturesque branches and seed pods in winter.
