Description:
One of the nicest and largest growing native trees, forming a very stately pyramidal form over a number of years.
Size:
While Kauri can eventually reach heights of 20-30m, it is so slow growing it may still be under 10m high after 30 years.
Growing Conditions:
Will grow in most soils with good drainage. Tolerant of windy situations.
Care:
Prune for shape if needed, and ensure adequate water during dry spells.
Uses:
- Excellent larger growing specimen tree.
- Can be grown in a container for a number of years.
- Can be used for topiary and bonsai work.
Comments:
This is one of the stately native trees and will make an excellent specimen if room allows.
