Description:
A clump forming iris with bright green leaves that are held in a fan shape.
Flower:
Tall flower spikes are topped with large white flowers that have yellow basal spots and violet central segments. They are very cool flowers.

Growing Conditions:
Dietes is very hardy and is happy in full sun or shade. It is both frost hardy and drought tolerant and is suitable for most soil conditions. It is a South African native that naturally grows on exposed coastal banks.
Care:
The occasional tidy up of any old leaves will keep them looking fresh and clean.
Uses:
- Really effective mass planted. Especially beside a pond etc.
- Great for thin gardens, forms a neat edge or border.
- Works well under-planting trees or shrubs. Useful for woodland plantings.
Comment:
A truly stunning plant that is totally underrated. Consider using it as part of a formal setting. They would look really nice filling out a Box edged garden, and as an under-planting for standard roses. Or imagine a trimmed sasanqua hedge with a row of Dietes and white Hydrangea’s underneath.
