Description:
A popular herb commonly used in cooking. Dark green leaves are fragrant when rubbed.
Flower:
Small royal blue flowers cover the plant through the summer.
Size:
Will grow up to 1.5m but trims well, especially as a hedge.
Growing Conditions:
Rosemary requires a sunny spot in well draining soil. Can handle coastal and exposed gardens and isn’t too fussed with soil quality.
Care:
Little care required. Prune annually for size and shape (which will be done regularly if you are using it in the kitchen).
Uses:
· Plant as an important addition to the herb garden.
· Useful as a low hedge or border.
· Cut the stems and use as kebab sticks for the BBQ.
· Makes a neat pot plant. Can help repel sand-flies, crush and soak some leaves in cooking or baby oil and then apply.
