Common Name:
Red Boronia
Description:
A ferny foliaged shrub valued for the sweet fragrance.
Flower:
Small pinkie- red bell shaped flowers cover the shrub in spring.
Size:
1m x 75cm.
Growing Conditions:
Boronia can be tricky shrubs to get going and can often only last a few years before failing. Don’t let this put you off as they are worth growing for the fragrance. They like a spot that puts the top in the sun but their roots in shade (plenty of mulch is the trick).
Care:
Once planted Boronia dislike any root disturbance, so be careful when weeding. Can be trimmed lightly once finished flowering.
Uses:
· The fragrance is great for planting around patios, decks or doorways.
· Works well in containers.
