Berberis thunbergii
A small, compact shrub with stunning purple-red foliage, ideal for a sunny spot in the garden where a colour contrast is required. 40cm x 50cm
 
Berberis thunbergii
A small deciduous shrub. The branches are arching with purple shoots and the leaves are mottled with silver, pink and cream. With age they darken to a deep purple. A very attractive foliage shrub and could also be used as a low hedge. 1m x 1m
 
Callistemon viminalis
This neat little shrub is a dwarf Bottlebrush, named because of the red flowers that resemble a bottle brush. A great shrub for small borders or even as an informal edging. Prune after flowering to retain shape. Very hardy and easy to grow. 1m x 1m
 
Cistus lusitanicus (Rock Rose)
Valued for its masses of white flowers that have a crimson spot on each petal. A compact shrub that responses well to a good prune after flowering. Very hardy and suitable for hot dry banks and coastal conditions. 75cm x 75cm.
 
Cistus salviifolius
Cistus are ideal for hot, dry, sunny gardens and tolerate coastal conditions. A good choice for filling out banks, rockeries and anywhere a good dose of colour is needed. 'Snowmound' is a tight growing form with masses of white flowers through spring and summer. 1 x 1m
 
Coleonema album (syn. Diosma ericoides)
A neat looking shrub with wispy branches that are covered in tiny white flowers during spring. Can be planted in shrub borders, used in containers and mass planted as ground cover. Trim lightly to retain nice shape. 1m x 1.3m
 
Coleonema pulchrum
This is one of our tried and true plants. A low spreading shrub that has amazing colour throughout the year and in summer it is covered in tiny pale pink flowers giving it the common name of Confetti Bush. Best colour if planted in full sun. 50cm x 1m
 
Convulvulus cneorum
A low growing shrub that has an attractive combination of foliage and flower. Leaves are a silver- grey with a felt like appearance. In summer masses of trumpet shaped, white flowers appear. Grows well in hot and dry conditions. 60cm x 1m.
 
Daphne odora
Perhaps the most well known or popular fragrant shrub. A neat, evergreen, compact shrub that bears masses of pink buds that open and fade to white. Does best in a semi-shade and cool spot, planted in free draining soil. 1.2m x 1.2m Also comes in a white form.
 
Nandina domestica
A delightful ornamental shrub with multi- coloured foliage. Turns green, yellow, orange, red and purple throughout the year. Looks good in containers and massed planted. 60cm.
 
Nandina
An upright shrub with colourful foliage. Leaves have different hues through the year, from yellow to red, pink, orange, purple and green. A hardy sun that colours best in full sun. A useful filler in the smaller garden, great in containers or as an informal hedge. 1m x 1m.
 
Raphiolepis indica
A compact shrub with leathery leaves that are a coppery red when young. Literally covered in small pink flower clusters right through spring and summer. Suitable for coastal gardens but can be frost tender when young. Great in containers and shrub gardens. 1.2m x 1.2m
 
Sophora molloyii

This is dwarf form of the popular native Kowhai. Has masses of yellow flowers from spring into summer, that are attractive to many birds. They are semi- evergreen, so will lose a few leaves in the winter, otherwise they are easy to grow. Prune after flowering. 1.2m x 1.2m

 
Spirea japonica
A compact deciduous shrub that is chosen for the masses of pink flowers heads in summer. They are a good choice for filling out flowering gardens, looking particularly good when group planted. Prune hard after flowering to encourage new growth. 1m x 1m
 
Viburnum davidii
This hardy evegreen has large leathery leaves and clusters of white flowers in spring. If male and female plants are both planted they have brilliant blue berries. Looks good massed planted. 1m x 1.5m
