Ground covers

Aceana caesiiglauca
A hardy native groundcover with attractive blue- grey foliage. Forms a dense, spreading mat that is suitable for rockeries, containers and as a neat weed cover. Team up with grasses, Libertia and Hebe's for an easy care native planting. 10cm x 50cm
 
Acaena inermis purpurea
A native groundcover with rich burgundy foliage that thrives in exposed situations. Plant in full sun for the best colour. 75cm spread.
 
Leptinella diocia
A neat looking native groundcover with ferny like foliage. Has yellow button flowers in the summer. Will grow in full sun but prefers a semi shaded and moist spot. Spreads 75cm.
 
Leptinella squalida
An attractive tight growing ground cover with small fern like leaves which are a rich, almost black colour. Plant in full sun in a moist but free draining soil. Forms a tidy carpet of foliage that works well to suppress weeds. 5cm x 75cm
 
Muehlenbeckia axillaris
A tight grounding groundcover that forms a dense looking mat. Plant in full sun or part shade for best results. Has tiny yellowish flowers in summer followed by black berries. Can be pruned to keep in check. 1m spread
 
Muehlenbeckia complexa
A native groundcover that is best described as wiry. Spreading branches tangle over each each forming a dense carpet. Can also be trained over wire mesh etc for a useful screen. Very hardy and can be pruned hard. 20cm x 1.5m
 
Pimelea
This is another form of the NZ Daphne. It has the same low growing habit and awesome blue colour, but has small rounded leaves. An ideal groundcover for contrast with other strong colours, especially flaxes and grasses. Plant in full sun for best colour. 75cm spread.
 
Pimelea prostrata
This awesome groundcover is known as the NZ Daphne. Its foliage is a grey blue colour that contrasts well with all other plants. Tiny, white flowers appear in summer for added interest. Looks good trailing amongst stones, over a pot and if used with coloured grasses.
 
Pratia angulata (Panakenake) ,Lobelia angulata
A New Zealand native groundcover that is perfect for semi- shady spots. Masses of tiny white flowers cover the plant through spring and summer. Easy to grow and maintain.
 
Scleranthus biflorus
A native groundcover that forms a tight mound of green foliage. Tiny white flowers appear in summer. Great for spreading over pebbles or in a rockery. Kids love the feel of this cool plant. Spreads to approx. 75cm across.
 
Selliera radicans
With the common name Swamp Weed you could easily overlook this neat groundcover. Tight green foliage and white flowers make it an attractive choice for rockeries and containers. An undemanding plant that spreads by creeping rootstock.
